He started his career as an appraiser in a family-owned and operated real estate business and was a past Certified General Real Estate Appraiser having qualified in Federal and Superior Court as an expert in land valuation matters. Licensed in CA since 1986 to conduct real estate sales activities he transitioned from appraisal into full-time real estate brokerage by 2000. Jim is a designated Accredited Land Consultant (ALC) as conferred by the Realtors Land Institute. He now brings his expertise to his clients as Director of the Farm & Ranch Division of TRI Commercial and is a perennial top producer within the organization and was #1 within the Company in sales volume in 2021. Nationally, Jim is a annual qualifying member of the APEX Producer's Club, as bestowed by the Realtors Land Institute since it's inception in 2017.
Jim lives in Woodland with his wife, Janice, where they raised their two adult children. Jim and Janice manage their local farmland and own rangeland above the Capay Valley in Yolo and Napa counties. Jim is an avid fly-fisherman, and they have a retreat in Dunsmuir, CA where Jim has his beat on the Upper Sac and uses as a springboard to other destinations, where he pursues steelhead on the northern West Coast rivers.
